Saturday May 22nd and Sunday May 23rd Firefighers Reed and Piacentini and members from Downingtown, Honey Brook and West Chester Fire Departments completed the Firefighter Survival training session held annually by the Chester County Fire Training Academy.

The first portion of the class was held in the classroom and the material focused on the knowledge and skills necessary for a self rescue as well as looking at different case studies from previous incidents where firefighters have become trapped at an incident.

Saturday afternoon the class focused on SCBA profiling, Mayday calling, accountability, and ladder bailouts. On Sunday, the class was divided into two groups. One group focused on rope bailouts and the second went through the confidence maze.

Thank you to class instructors Win Slauch, Chris Obenchain, Jeff Kramer, Reenie Giunta and Dave McCormick.
